ARRRGH! Frustrated with the lack of Canadian Census Records! I'm into privacy rights, but they really are preventing great strides in the research, nice government people.

New Moon made the longest and most depressing installment of the series very watchable. I think the best part of seeing it opening weekend, was to listen to the chittering and squees from the fangirls.

I've been preparing for my interview today, and writing down responses. Then I realized I should probably practice a little self-censoring on a few of the questions.

THEM: "What are your goals?"

ME: "Whoa, um. Let me think. I want to have a kick ass job, with a kick ass flat, with a fantastic board, staff and community." (pause)
"Money, I’d like more money. Oh, and Mr. (name withheld to avoid sounding like a fangirl). I want him too. Marriage to Mr. (name withheld to avoid sounding like a fangirl). Take that back. Marriage and babies with Mr. (name withheld to avoid sounding like a fangirl). And a membership to Curves. You guys have one, right?"

THEM: *click*

Job hunting. Job hunting. Job hunting.

Even though work is one of the things I do not want to think about.

I've been sitting around this morning thinking about all the things I might have done differently at my previous job, and how I need to make a few changes when it comes to a future position.

The list of things to change is growing, and although I'd like nothing more than to jump on a plane and see how I can get by someplace new, I think that' really quite cowardly.

Although, it might be the change I need and it could be fun to boot.

Maybe I should do something completely different. Pirate. Wine maker. Milliner.

It could work.

I'm in the west end of London at the moment, and while I was out for a stroll to check out the area, I saw a replica TARDIS on the street corner (disguised as a people monitoring station from the sign) and the actor Ben Kingsly.

GI JOE + Christopher Eccleston = WTF

I took my friend Tracy out for dinner and a movie for her birthday, and because I'm the best type of friend, we went to see GI Joe. Tracy has had a crush on Snake Eyes since she was eight, but that's another story altogether.

The pre-show ads were exceptionally long. The movie wasn't terrible. But it wasn't really anything else.

And Christopher Eccleston's Scottish accent was painful. Then there was the little ditty about commanding a super mechanized fighter plane to launch weapons using 'the Celtic' language. Did anybody else cringe during these portions movie?

I give our boy props for his great use of cavalier-intense_stare-subtle-badass acting, which made him stand out.

There’s a reason why no one was allowed to preview the movie, and I'm certainly not buying the movie.

Graveyard Book: Not as Creepy as it Sounds

Finished off Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book today during lunch. Fantastical amazing book. Loved it from the beginning to the very end. Had to re-read the last chapter because my doggy neice kept licking my face.

Loved the song at the end:

Make Way For The Ducklings!

Yesterday, I rescued a lost baby duck from the asphalt parking lot near my flat. I found a great caretaker for the little nipper whilst driving near the fairground. Unknowingly, I asked a group of people if they'd seen any nesting ducks near the river. These folks were leaving the 4-H Fowl and Rabbit Club meeting, so they took little nipper.

This morning, little nipper's *NINE* brothers and sisters were wandering around lost in the same parking lot. No mama duck. But there was an interesting report from a passer-by about an injured duck being chased by a cat yesterday.

Well, that explains little nipper.

With help, I managed to place all nine ducklings in a box and contacted the 4-H folks again. All 10 ducklings will be reunited at a specialist's house.

One more miracle, and I'll be up for canonization as the Patron Saint of Wood Ducks.

I bought tickets for my co-workers and I to go see Sci-Fi Channel's TAPS Ghosthunters at Eastern Michigan Uni next month.

I gotta show the kids I'm keeping it real. ;)

I'm envisioning a group of library ladies walking through an auditorium packed with college kids. It should be an interesting evening.
